The tour starts with a visit of famous Thingvellir National Park. This particular place stays in the heart of the Icelanders for centuries and is loved by the visitors as well. The reason is that you can admire geological, histrocial and nature features in one unique place. No doubt why it is UNESCO World Heritage site. It is here where you can see the separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Largest fresh water lake and the oldest functioning democratic parliament site. Icelanders proudly founded Althing (The Icelandic Parliament in 930 at Thingvellir).
Our tour continues to the Geysir geological zone, which is actually steaming geothermal valley of Haukadalur. springs. You can be sure to see the geyser Strokkur which erupts every 6-9 minutes up to spectacular height of 35 meters. The famous Geysir is more or less dormant for the pass decades but still worth seeing as it a couple of minutes walk from Strokkur, his smaller brother, as the Icelanders say. You will also enjoy other geological and natural features at this site.
The next stop of this very attractive tour is the magnificent Gullfoss Waterfall (which translates as Golden Waterfall). This is definitely one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the world. It has a height of 32 meters and with of more than 20 meters. It is nourished by the second largest glacier in Iceland, the so called Langjökull. We could say that this is definitely one of the top ten sites of all the visitors :-)
We return to the capital where we you have 30 minute break. So, our tour can continue to the World renewed spa, the famous Blue Lagoon.
