The boat tour finishes around 11:00, leaving time to continue your journey towards the next part of the experience.

After a short transfer from the base camp, you will reach the glacier tongue, where the hike begins. The route is considered easy and suitable for most travelers, offering spectacular views of glacier formations, ice ridges and surrounding mountains.

HELICOPTER TOUR - QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

What should you bring? No matter what time of year you decide to travel to Iceland, it is always important to bring a proper waterproof jacket, warm clothes and, good waterproof shoes. For the helicopter tour you should present your travel document and voucher.

It it safe to fly over a volcano with a helicopter?  Yes, we think so. So far we have made hunderds of flights over the eruption area, and no problems have occured. Helicopters are not so sensitive to encounters to clouds of volcanic ash like the planes are, where there it is a serious concern. Helicopters do not have jet engines and other aircraft components like planes, which are so vulnerable to damage by volcanic ash. We have sold many flights for helicopter sightseeing tours over the eruption in 2021, 2022, 2023 and also 2024 on Iceland with no problematic issues regarding security. Because security comes first! So sometimes the flights are cancelled due to climatological or volcanic conditions. In this case our clients are entitled to 100% refund of course, or they can reschedule their flight.

How is the Airbus helicopter?  The Airbus EC130 offers 6 front-facing leather seats which are spacious and comfortable with G¡great 180° "IMAX" view. These helicopters have a unique design and low noise and vibration levels. Big advantage are also the elevated back row seats to guarantee a unparalleled views.

There are scheduled departures every day from 08.00 to 20:00 but they are subject to weather conditions and airspace In addition, there could be other last minute restrictions, such as the closure of airspace due to the eruption of gases, which can affect the departure of the flight.
