ITINERARY FOR THE EXCURSION “VOLCANO HELICOPTER TOUR IN ICELAND”
On this guided flight, we take off from the domestic airport in Reykjavík and fly above one of the most active volcanic zones on the island, the Hellisheiði Plateau, where you will see the lava fields covered in moss which stretch until the horizon, interwoven with colorful mountains of basalt, misty thermal springs and the very same central geothermal vents that supply heat to Reykjavi.
We will be sure to touchdown outside of the typical tourist routes in order to present firsthand, the most remote side of Iceland. In the geothermal area of Hengill, names as such because of the Hengill Volcano, one can witness the complete nature of Iceland. We will take you to some thermal springs and in the spring you may be surprised with a glimpse of the wild sheep which roam through the valley. What you need to bring: We highly recommend that no matter the time of year that you come to visit Iceland, you come prepared for the cold! This means packing and wearing very warm and insulated clothing. We suggest waterproof and windproof jackets, pants and shoes/boots. SNOWMOBILE AND ICE TUNNEL TOUR ON THE GLACIER
The tour, “Snowmobile and Glacier Tunnel Excursion” is the best way to explore the Langjökull Glacier from Reykjavík. Following the collection of all participants from their accommodation in the capital, (or corresponding tourist point) we’ll take off for the northeast, towards the glacier. At our first stop, we will get the opportunity to see the most powerful thermal spring in the whole of Europe, Deildartunguhver, from which emerges 180 liters of boiling water every second.
Once we have arrived in Jaki, the base camp of the glacier, where we will all receive instructions on how to properly operate the vehicles and then everyone will climb aboard the snowmobiles for a spectacular adventure through a world of ice. As this is the best way in which to truly explore the glacier, we will be able to enjoy the unforgettable landscapes throughout the trip, which ends at the mouth of the tunnel of ice. Once we have all disembarked from the snowmobiles, the adventure through the tunnel will begin. We will reach a depth of 300 meters within the glacier tunnel so that you can glimpse the most beautiful crystal-blue tones and colors that await those who dare to enter this labyrinth that snakes its way into the ice.

“Snowmobile and Tunnel Tour on the Glacier” is the best way to explore the Langjökull Glacier. Upon following the driving directions (from Reykjavík: Highway 1 through Borgarnes to Highway 50 to Highway 518 till Húsafell for a total of 2 hours), we will head north towards the glacier. Once we have reached the base camp of the glacier, our guide will give instructions for operating the snowmobile and then we are off on a unique experience through a world of ice. We will explore the glacier to the fullest possible extent and enjoy the unforgettable landscapes that will surround us until we reach the ice tunnel. After dismounting from the snowmobiles we will begin to explore the interior of the tunnel, passing through a total of 300 meters of passageways in order to glimpse the most amazing colors of blue that are hidden away at the far reaches of the glacier, within the multitude of tunnels.
