The Katla volcano lies under the famous Mýrdalsjökull glacier, on the South Coast of Iceland, giving its name to the Kötlujökull glacier tongue or Katla glacier, whose most striking feature is its exceptionally blue color. In recent years, this glacier has been moving slowly from the interior of Iceland, creating some of the most impressive natural ice caves on the island. At first, the ice caves were quite small, but today they have become quite large and do not look like anything you've seen before.
The tour starts in Reykjavík and takes you along the South Coast of Iceland, with views of mountains, rivers and small towns on one side and the wild Atlantic Ocean on the other. We will arrive to Vík, we will pick up the last participants and we will go east until we take a detour to the north, entering a rural road that is only accessible thanks to our incredible Superjeep. An otherworldly landscape awaits you as you enter the interior of the glacier, traversing incredible walls of blue and black ice. At the end of the tunnel you will find an opening in the ice like the vault of a church. We will enter, taking our time to admire this scene that leaves us speechless, before returning to the surface of the glacier. We will walk a little further to see if the smaller ice caves are accessible and we will return to our Superjeep. On the way back, we will make a quick stop in Vík and visit the popular Skógafoss waterfall. We will return to Reykjavík at dinner time (around 7:00 p.m.).

SKY LAGOON ICELAND – Details of the work
The Sky Lagoon in Iceland is located in the beautiful port of Kársnes in Kópavogur, just south of Reykjavík. It was created by the Pursuit hotel and attractions company, thus expanding its collection of unique travel experiences. The construction of these geothermal baths was estimated at a cost of 4 billion ISK (which is about 24 million EUR). Its directors and managers have a great experience in the management of spas of this type since some of them worked for several years in the famous Blue Lagoon of Iceland. But, of course, this new project has not been carried out to compete with the Blue Lagoon since it is a completely different spa, with a unique experience and that is a special complement in the world of thermal waters in Iceland.
The Sky Lagoon spa is expected to employ, when fully operational, around 120 workers to ensure that these hot springs offer a high quality service to their visitors. For now, it is not part of the plans to create accommodation in the vicinity of the Sky Lagoon spa but the possibility of further expanding its operations in the future by building accommodation according to the characteristics of Sky Lagoon remains open.
