MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SNOWMOBILE TOUR ON EYJAFJALLAJÖKULL

The snowmobile tour on the Eyjafjallajökull glacier starts at the base of Gljúfrabúi, on Road 249, in southern Iceland (for an additional fee, you can add a pick-up from other points in the reservation panel). After receiving the short but necessary briefing from the guide and having all the safety procedures clear, you can put on your snow suit and helmet and get on our specially modified Super Jeep to cross the glacier. We will then climb the slopes of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier until we reach the base where the snowmobiles are.

The snowmobile ride through the Eyjafjallajökull glacier is approximately 1 hour but the total duration of the tour depends on the season of the year. In winter it is easier to get to the snow, so the tour is approximately 2 hours, but during the summer, due to having to drive to a higher level, the tour can last up to 4 hours.

To operate the snowmobiles, a full valid driver’s license is required. Single riders and groups with odd numbers are required to book a single ride extra.
