Do I need a 4x4 vehicle to reach Landmannalaugar?
No. Our highland buses are specially equipped for Iceland’s mountain roads and F-roads. Booking this transfer allows you to reach Landmannalaugar safely without driving yourself.
Can I bring luggage on the bus?
Yes. Standard luggage and hiking backpacks are allowed. This service is especially popular among Laugavegur Trail hikers. If traveling with large backpacks, we recommend informing us in advance.
Is this transfer suitable for hikers?
Yes. The morning departure allows hikers to begin their trek the same day, and the afternoon return is ideal for those finishing the Laugavegur Trail.
How long is the bus ride?
The journey takes approximately 4 hours each way, including a short stop in Hella.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Highland access depends on weather and road conditions. For safety reasons, the operator may cancel departures if conditions are not suitable. Passengers will be informed as early as possible.
Is Landmannalaugar open all year?
No. Landmannalaugar is accessible only during the summer season, typically from mid-June to September.
