The Golden Circle and the Secret Lagoon Day trip from Reykjavik are the perfect combination to enjoy a unique day on Iceland. The tour takes place in a comfortable and modern bus equipped with tablets and audio guides in each seat. There is WIFI connection and audio guide offered in 10 languages. Do not hesitate and visit the famous geysers "Geysir" and "Strokkur". "Geysir" is the grandfather of all geysers, as that which gave its name to all other natural hot water fountains around the world. While Grandfather Geysir is inactive, one of its offspring, "Strokkur" is an active (youthful) geyser that erupts on a regular basis every 5-8 minutes and its steaming hot water can reach up to 15-20 meters high. Let yourself be amazed by the immense and impressive "Golden Waterfall", Gullfoss. And, of course, do not miss the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the Vikings in the Thingvellir National Park, where the former Icelandic parliament, the oldest in the world, was founded. During this one day trip from Reykjavik, along the Golden Circle, you will also visit the place where the two tectonic plates are dividing as we speak, between European and North American. This place was deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site and contains the largest lake on Iceland.
The last stop on our one day tour to the Golden Circle ends with the most relaxing part, the Secret Lagoon. Whether it's cold or hot out (and in Iceland, it's never averages more than 15 °C / 55 °F) , you can be sure it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy Icelandic nature at its best. In fact, the hot springs are such a delight that local Icelanders have been enjoying this very spring for generations. Around the Secret Lagoon you will find several hot spots. In addition, a walking path has been built so that you can see up close and personal, the small bubbling waters, such as a small geyser that erupts every 5 minutes.

The Golden Circle of Iceland is a route near Reykjavík that includes some of the most fascinating natural monuments in all of Iceland, going into the heart of the island. The main places of interest are the Thingvellir National Park, a place that has not only incredible natural landscapes but which is also of great historical and geological importance (here the tectonic plates are dividing between Europe and North America as we speak); the impressive golden waterfall of Gullfoss, one of the most beautiful on Iceland with its imposing double falls that drop into a great canyon of the Hvítá river; and the valley of Haukadalur, an area of great geothermal activity and where the famous geysers Geysir and Strokkur are located.
The Secret Lagoon of the Golden Circle is one of Iceland's oldest natural geothermal pools and has stunning views. These natural hot springs are found in the small village of Fludir, in the area of the Golden Circle. The landscape and waters have remained intact since the lagoon was created in 1891, which is ideal to truly get to know and feel the real Iceland. The natural environment of the pool and the steam that rises in the air give the place a magical feeling. The water is maintained at 38-40 degrees Celsius throughout the year and throughout the area we can find different geothermal points, plus a small geyser that erupts every 5 minutes, becoming the perfect show for those who are bathing in the lagoon.
What do you need to bring? No matter what time of year you decide to travel to Iceland, it is always important to bring a good waterproof jacket, trekking clothes (waterproof pants like Gore-tex), good trekking shoes, gloves, light hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera and water bottle. Also, it's IMPORTANT to remember to bring a swimsuit and towel for this excursion so that you can enjoy the lagoon to the max.

What is included in the hire of the mid-size motorhome?
- Price includes: A modern, mid-size motorhome, local taxes, unlimited mileage, basic insurance (mandatory) which includes CDW with a 2,800 EUR deductible, motorhome equipment with a fully-equipped kitchen, technical testing, transfer to and from the airport, explanation of how the vehicle works (in English and also available by video), pick-up and return between 08:00 - 18:00, 7 days a week, information package with guide and maps (in English), instruction book in several languages, luggage storage..
Price doesn't include: Additional optional insurance, gasoline / petrol (the vehicle is delivered with a full tank and must be returned as such), gas (the gas bottles are delivered full and the customer must return them full). Extras such as blankets and sheets (check the list of possible extras to hire). - Pickups and office: The rental office is located in Keflavík (transfer to and from the airport is already included). Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day. Outside office hours, the motorhome can be collected or returned for an additional 200 EUR.
ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Optional Insurance: All rentals come with mandatory CDW- TC Basic which includes a 2,800 EUR deductible/self risk level. It is essential to have the VISA / MASTERCARD credit card for the rental deposit. Other cards will not be accepted by the supplier. The suppliers also offer additional insurance packages available as well. If the client wishes to obtain optional insurance for further security and peace of mind, these insurance packages are available when picking up the vehicle. The TC Plus Insurance is 18 EUR per day with a deductible of 1,200 EUR per accident. The TC Premium costs 29 EUR per day and includes a 600 EUR deductible per accident. Or for those who wish to have zero deductible, TC Total Insurance is available for 79 EUR per day, however this is NOT fully comprehensive. In addition, the windshield and tyre insurance is 15 EUR per day and covers damages caused to the windscreens or tyres.
Extra services Children's booster seat: EUR 19 per rental. Camping table and chairs: EUR 4 per day per person. Barbecue equipment 39 EUR per rental. Electric coffee machine: 19 EUR per rental. Inverter (12-230 volts): 4 EUR per rental day. Gas bottle: 95 EUR per rental. WC chemical products: 22 EUR per rental. Bed set (blanket, sheets, pillow, towels): 51 EUR per person. All optional services will be paid directly at the rental office when picking up the motorhome in Iceland.
MOTORHOME RESERVATION FAQ
Where I will collect my reserved motorhome?
Our assistant will be waiting for you at the Keflavík airport with your name written on a sign in the arrival hall. He will pick you up with all luggage and take you to the rental station (5 minutes driving) where you collect your motorhome. Of course you can reach our rental station in the Keflavík area by your own if you prefer this option. After returning the motorhome to the rental station our assistant will take you back to the Keflavík airport. Both transfers are included in the rental price.
I have no experience with motorhomes, where I will learn how to drive and operate a motorhome and it's accessories?
No worries, at the central station during the pick-up procedure we will show you a 20-minute video about driving and maintaining all equipment. Then we will show you step by step each detail in your motorhome. (the best way for getting your hands-on experience) You have a manual in the motorhome and also a 24-hour help-line with an assistance.
Is it difficult to drive a motorhome in Iceland?
No, it is not. We recommend you to be more careful while driving as motorhomes are bigger than standard cars. Normally after 20 minutes you have gotten accustomed to the experience and how the motorhome behaves in curves and crosses. We have never had a customer who couldn't manage to drive their motorhome so far. No stress :) You will make quickly learn and go on to enjoy an unforgettable trip.
